Orivanta Labs
Africa-born · Globally minded

Technology that makes complex problems simpler.

Orivanta Labs researches, designs, and engineers practical technology for real-world problems — combining software, hardware, and intelligence wherever the problem asks for it.

Mission

To engineer practical technology that solves meaningful problems and makes people's lives easier.

We don't build technology merely because it is technically possible. We build it because a problem is worth solving.

Vision

To build globally relevant technology from Africa.

Africa should not only consume technology built elsewhere. It can be a place where important technology is imagined, researched, engineered, deployed, and scaled globally.

What we build

A broad technology company by design, not by accident.

These domains represent our technical capability, not a restriction. Orivanta Labs explores broadly across them and commits resources only where a problem is real and a solution is worth building.

Software Engineering

01

Reliable systems, platforms, APIs, and applications.

Fintech & Financial Infrastructure

02

Technology that simplifies access to and integration with financial systems.

Artificial Intelligence

03

Machine learning applied where intelligent computation creates genuine value.

Hardware & Embedded Systems

04

Physical systems and devices that interact with the real world.

Internet of Things

05

Connected devices and sensors that enable monitoring and automation.

Robotics

06

Systems that combine software, hardware, sensing, control, and autonomy.

Developer Infrastructure

07

Tools that make it easier for developers and businesses to build and operate technology.

Philosophy

Technology should be useful. AI should be intentional.

Technology must serve a purpose

We ask what problem we're solving before we ask what technology to use. The appropriate tool is chosen for the problem, not the other way around.

AI should be intentional

We reject the idea that every solution needs artificial intelligence. AI is a tool we use when it creates meaningful value — it is not the purpose of the company.

Software and hardware share one continuum

Some problems are solved entirely in code. Others need sensors, embedded systems, or physical infrastructure. We combine software, hardware, and intelligence when the problem requires it.

How we work

Explore broadly. Build narrowly.

A technology idea is not automatically a business opportunity. Before committing real resources, we look for evidence — who experiences the problem, how it's solved today, and whether a better solution can be built and operated sustainably.

Founders

Two computer scientists, cousins, and equal partners.

Breye and Djine share a background in software engineering and a belief that technology should be used deliberately to solve meaningful problems — not to follow trends. Ownership is split 50/50, as is responsibility for the company's founding costs.

Founder

Breye Foka Lagloire

21 · Chadian · based in Kigali, Rwanda
Computer Science student, University of Kigali
Co-Founder

Djine Sinto Pafing

20 · Chadian · based in Yaoundé, Cameroon
Licence Professionnelle, ICT4D, University of Yaoundé

Their combined footprint across Chad, Rwanda, and Cameroon gives Orivanta Labs a distributed founding perspective across Central and East Africa — the starting point for a company built to operate well beyond it.

Culture

Seven traits we build the company around.

Curiosity

Willing to explore new technologies, disciplines, and domains.

Engineering excellence

Built with technical discipline and long-term reliability in mind.

Practicality

Useful outcomes over unnecessary complexity.

Intellectual honesty

Honest about what we know, what we don't, what's working, and what isn't.

Ownership

Each founder takes responsibility for their commitments and outcomes.

Long-term thinking

Never sacrificing long-term trust and capability for short-term attention.

Meaningful innovation

Measured by the value created, not the novelty of the technology used.

Geographic strategy

Africa first. Global by ambition.

Different African markets have different regulations, infrastructure, and technical ecosystems — no two are identical. We expand deliberately, market by market, rather than assuming what worked once will work everywhere.

We prioritize markets where we have strong problem insight, access to users, technical feasibility, and a realistic path to deployment.

  1. 01Understand the problem
  2. 02Validate the opportunity
  3. 03Build the solution
  4. 04Understand local requirements
  5. 05Establish a strong initial market
  6. 06Expand to similar markets
  7. 07Build regional capability
  8. 08Expand globally

What Orivanta Labs is not.

  • An AI company merely because it uses AI
  • A company that builds solutions without understanding the problem
  • A company that adds technology for the sake of technology
  • A company limited to a single industry
  • A company limited to a single country
  • A content company producing technology-related noise
  • A company that assumes innovation requires unnecessary complexity

Orivanta Labs is a technology company focused on building useful things.

The long-term ambition

To build technology that matters.
